November 2010

Here we are and it is already Nov. 2, 2010.  I have a bit of time to write something up as Lydia is napping (first time in about a month), and Clay has Wyatt out for a bike ride.  Wyatt had swimming last night and I have to say he is doing really well.  I love watching him swim, he is so confident and is not scared to try what the other kids are doing.  Right now he is learning to do: front stroke, back stroke, breast stroke, learning to go under and hold his breath (which he can do for way too long), and he is learning how to dive from the side of the pool, as well as from the race platform (apprx. 2 feet off of water).
Wyatt had soccer on the weekend on Saturday and Sunday and he really likes going to that. He's learning how to check someone when they have the ball and take it away.  We usually practice with him a few times a week as well.  He says I can't play as well as daddy, and he compliments me on  any good kicks or stops that I make. It is very cute.  That is after I remind him that mommy plays soccer not daddy!  :)
I went to the pilates class yesterday afternoon to find out that it is full.  So I will go and try to get put on a cancellation list, if they have such a thing.  I was a little disappointed, but that's ok.  I'll just have to start running more.  I would love to go out to the soccer, but my foot is not 100% and it is at 9-10:30pm.  I thought our practice time at home was late enough.  Here I would have to bike at least 2.2 km up hill to get to practice, then practice for an hour an a half then bike back home.  Wow, I am tired just thinking about it!  I will see how the foot progresses first.  I want to be 100% so I can play at home next Sept.

This morning we went on a small adventure.  Clay took Wyatt on the bike, and I walked and ran with Lydia in the stroller.  Umbrella strollers are definitely not made for running with!  We took them to an archeology site that is about 20 minutes walk/run distance away.  They loved the fact that they could go around and see all the old houses, and are surprised how small they are.  I was telling Lydia that people used to live in these houses, and she said "I know mommy, daddy already told me that"!    Lydia was getting tired and a bit cranky, so I brought her home and Clay and Wyatt went to the beach to hang out for a while.
I have to say to say, it is nice being able to be outside hiking, biking and running in the sun with no clouds with a temperature of 25 degrees on November 2.

So here I am now sitting on my balcony overlooking the ocean, drinking a coffee enjoying the sun, now in the shade it  is 21 degrees and it is 1pm.  Doesn't get much better than this.

The kids are excited now that they know Nana and Papa are coming for sure.  Wyatt keeps asking when Christmas is and if we are going to have a Christmas tree.  Unfortunately, I haven't really answered him, as I don't know the answer to it.  I don't know if they put up trees, or what they do.

Lydia asked the other day if we could go to our other home in Vancouver Canada that has an upstairs and downstairs.  It was so cute.  I also have to add that I am very proud of her for her potty training.  She is doing absolutely amazing.  I took her to a toy store and told her to look around and pick out a toy.  She did, and then I said if you can go 7days with no accidents, then you can have what ever toy you want.  So we are on day 4!  So far she keeps talking about a doll that will cost under $10 Euros.  But we will see when we actually get to the toy store on what she wants.

Well, I am going to go and enjoy the last of my quiet time, as Clay and Wyatt should be home soon and Lydia I am sure will wake up soon as well.

We hope everyone is doing well, and we miss you guys lots.

Take care

Lisa
